2021 SEASON INFORMATION

The Upward leadership team has made the difficult decision to limit/modify this year's Upward season. There are of course many factors that led to this decision, driven by a combination of uncertainty over continued impacts of the on-going COVID pandemic as well as direct impacts from Derecho 2020 which resulted in major damage to Northland and their gym as well as severe damage sustained by Salvation Army rendering their facility unusable for this year’s Upward season. We hope to have both these situations in the rear view mirror in time to start Upward 2022 season with renewed vigor.

ANTIOCH CHRISTIAN CHURCH will be the only location for the 2021 Season

Changes for the 2021 Season Only

One Location Only
There will be Upward Cheerleading
No Kindergarten teams
Mask optional not mandatory
Limited seating

No lining up and being announced onto the courts
The games are still the same length but they will be spaced out so will start every hour and 15 mins
We will have 3 hours of 5/6th grade games on Sundays
No celebration night

REGISTRATION WILL OPEN ON OCTOBER 15, 2020
This an opportunity to play basketball but it won't be the full Upward experience as in the past.

Competitive Sports Environment

Upward Basketball offers competitive games by balancing talent on each team (through the evaluation process). The unique substitution system provides each child equal playing time along with competing against an equally matched opponent.
Each Upward Cheerleading practice and clinic is focused on teaching cheer skills and the foundations needed for the next level of cheerleading.

Evaluations

Each registered participant must attend one basketball/cheer evaluation.
